The popular clothing store, Forever 21, just announced that they would be closing all stores, not only here in the state of Michigan but every store they own in the state.
Catalyst Brands, which operates Forever 21, mentioned that due to the popularity of other online retailers like Shein and Temu, they weren't able to keep up with the online competitors.
This isn't a new trend, though, as we've seen many stores shut their doors in recent years because of the ease of online shopping. More customers have been going in a more online direction than going to traditional brick-and-mortar stores.
Forever 21 also couldn't keep up with the competition from tariffs, which allowed Shein and Temu to offer lower prices on similar items that Forever 21 may have sold.
No specific date has yet been announced as to when the retailer will be closing their doors. However, a mass liquidation of their products should be expected.
